The top photo is of Plaza de Armas, the main square in Arequipa. The left hand photo is of one of the local markets near Plaza de Armas. Inca Kola is Peru’s answer to Coca Cola and it honestly tastes much better then it looks. Sandra and Lula are my two wonderful Spanish teachers. They are truly amazing people and have great patience! The last photo is mi casa (my house) in Arequipa.
I am off to Lima this Saturday (9th) to sort out my visa and then I go to visit Ica for 3 days (Ica is where I will be working once I have enough Spanish.) I will be away for a week but when I get back I will update you on what has been happening here.
Lots of love
After some language training to improve my Spanish I will be taking up the role of Short Term Coordiantor (STC) for Peru. The STC coordinates the Latin Link Step (teams) and Stride (people) programmes, placing them in projects lasting from a few weeks to two years. Based in Arequipa, I will be getting involved in a local church and my local community.
